A renowned scholar and administrator, Keith Banting has made outstanding contributions to the development and understanding of social policy in Canada. Known for his impeccable research and inspiring leadership, he is a professor at Queen's University and former director of its School of Policy Studies. Under his stewardship, the School has become one of our nation's pre-eminent institutions in this field. He has written and published extensively on numerous contemporary issues, including income security, federalism, health policy and comparative politics. Widely respected by his peers, he has also served as vice-president of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
