A prominent British Columbia businessman, he served for fifteen years as Chairman of the Fraser River Harbour Commission. Though his capable and aggressive leadership, he developed the Port of Vancouver into a highly efficient and profitable operation, giving the people of Canada a modern transportation link to the world.
