Dr. Furnival's fruitful career in the mineral industry spans more than half a century, nearly thirty years of it with the Standard Oil Company of California, in its operations in the Americas and Australia. In these places, and in an interim period as director of mines for Manitoba, his initiatives resulted in the discovery of new resources.
