She has had an outstanding career in nursing and hospital administration at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital in St.John's, Nfld. As the person primarily responsible for the expansion of the hospital facilities, the founding of a detoxification centre and the establishment of a palliative care unit, she was named St. John's Citizen of the Year for 1982.
