Roger Lewis, a Mi'kmaq historian and archaeologist from the Sipekne’katik First Nation, has profoundly shaped Indigenous cultural preservation in Nova Scotia. His work documenting Mi’kmaq land use, oral histories and cultural practices have strengthened community knowledge and education. He also leads archaeological training and residential school site excavation efforts.
