From 1939 to her retirement, she was a medical doctor in India, serving in hospitals supported by the Canadian Baptist Overseas Missions Board. Her capacity to receive and adapt new ideas, and her personal magnetism and professional skill, have greatly benefited the young doctors she trained and the patients under her care.
