    William Macdonald, C.M. Toronto, Ontario Renowned legal practitioner and expert advisor William Macdonald has had an indelible impact on public policy in Canada. He has garnered international recognition for his conciliatory approach to policymaking, notably in resisting the National Energy Program and advising on the development of the Labrador Voisey Bay nickel deposit. He launched the Canadian Narrative Project and authored the book Might Nature Be Canadian at Trent University, two initiatives that promote the effect of mutual accommodation in decision making. He and his late wife, Molly Anne, were lauded for their contribution of a world-renowned Kakiemon porcelain collection to the Gardiner Museum.
