An authoritative voice on food microbiology and a global expert on Listeria and Cronobacter, he has held important positions in professional associations, leading panels and research bodies in the field. Throughout his distinguished public service career at Health Canada, he influenced the development of safety standards, and represented Canada on issues of food protection around the world.
