    Frederick John Longstaffe, C.M. Ilderton, Ontario Frederick Longstaffe is a trailblazer in stable isotope geochemistry. Distinguished professor at Western University and Canada Research Chair in Stable Isotope Science, he has served as the school’s dean of science, provost and vice-president academic. His original research and its groundbreaking applications within a wide range of scientific fields—from paleoclimatology to anthropology—have impacted industry and have furthered our understanding of important issues affecting our world. He has also been a leader within myriad organizations, including the Geological Association of Canada and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
