Morris Barer is a leading expert in health services and health care policy research. Founding director of the University of British Columbia’s Centre for Health Services and Policy Research, and inaugural director of the field’s national research institute, he was also instrumental in developing Population Data BC and the Canadian Association for Health Services and Policy Research. His influential research focused on evidence-based policy and practice for a strengthened health care system.
