Barry Bultz is an internationally renowned leader in the field of psycho-oncology. A founding member of the Canadian Association of Psychosocial Oncology and a past president of the International Psycho-Oncology Society, he refined and advanced the practice of measuring a patient’s distress as the sixth vital sign, a standard which is now endorsed by more than 70 international organizations, and has changed cancer care in Canada and around the world. His pioneering work has improved the lives of countless patients, their families and their caregivers.
