Colonel Romeo Lalonde was the Chief of Staff/Deputy Commander, Canadian Forces Middle East, and later, the Commander, Canadian Air Task Group Middle East, during the Gulf War. His leadership, professionalism and management skills were instrumental in the establishment and operation of the Joint Headquarters in Manama, Bahrain, and the successful Canadian contribution to the coalition war effort.
