Worried about the future of their 250-hectare property, ecologists Paul and Cathy Keddy signed a 999-year agreement with the Mississipi Madawaska Land Trust Conservancy to have part of their land donated and the remainder restricted from any future development. Thanks to their generous gift, the sanctuary—home to at least 10 at-risk species and situated in a rapidly urbanizing area—will be safeguarded and appreciated by future generations of nature enthusiasts.
