Dr. Erik Vu was a driving force in establishing the Tactical Emergency Medical Service (TEMS) program for the Vancouver Police Department, the Abbotsford Police Department and the RCMP National Emergency Medical Response Team. Designed to train operators to use life-saving medical care in situations too dangerous for paramedics to attend, the program has increased the safety and survivability of TEMS operators, leading to increased public safety within the community.
