Master Corporal Prodonick was deployed with A Company, 1st Battalion, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Battle Group, Operation ARCHER Rotation 1. On June 21, 2006, while traveling with a supply convoy, one of the vehicles struck an improvised explosive device. Master Corporal Prodonick quickly attended to the wounded. Once assured that they were being provided adequate care, he shifted his attention to securing the area and took the initiative to patrol the immediate vicinity. His timely actions permitted the capture of the individuals responsible for the attack. Throughout, Master Corporal Prodonick remained calm and decisive. His outstanding professionalism, self-assurance and stellar leadership won great respect for him and the Canadian Forces.
