Danick Lévesque, M.B.
Medal of Bravery
On February 21, 2010, Danick Lévesque rescued a woman from the Rivière-des-Prairies, in Montréal, Quebec. Mr. Lévesque was at home when a panicked woman knocked on his door to tell him someone had fallen into the river. He quickly grabbed a hockey stick and ran to help. Mr. Lévesque crawled out onto the thin ice and made his way closer to the victim, who was struggling to stay afloat. He extended his hockey stick towards the woman and was able to pull her to the edge of the ice and later, up onto its surface. He then walked her to the shore where others came to help.
