Sûreté du Québec Constable Elizabeth Basralian, M.B. Sûreté du Québec Constable Patrick Leblanc, M.B. Medal of Bravery On July 6, 2002, Csts Elizabeth Basralian and Patrick Leblanc rescued the occupants of a vehicle that had crashed into a ditch, in Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard, Quebec. The officers approached the vehicle, which had caught fire, and found two people still inside with the driver's door jammed shut. The officers opened the rear door to help the passenger escape, then tried unsuccessfully to free the unconscious driver by lifting him over the seat. Despite smoke and flames licking the dashboard, Cst. Leblanc climbed into the vehicle and used all his strength to push the victim out the window, which he had smashed open with his flashlight. Cst. Basralian, who had remained outside the vehicle, then grabbed hold of the man and pulled him out of the wreck.
