On March 6, 2000, Daniel Doyle prevented a baby in a stroller from being struck by a car in Woodstock, Ontario. A mother and her child were crossing a busy intersection when a car came around the corner, heading directly toward them. Seeing that the baby was directly in the path of the vehicle, Mr. Doyle jumped in front of it, grabbed the stroller by the handles and pushed it out of harm's way. In a split second, Mr. Doyle was struck by the vehicle and thrown onto the hood before landing on the pavement. As a result of his valiant effort to save the life of the 22-month old child, Mr. Doyle suffered a broken leg and rib injuries.
