On October 4, 1994, in Rimouski, Quebec, Mr. Landry saved a woman from a stabbing. Hearing cries from a hairdressing salon, he rushed in to find a man holding a pair of scissors to the victim's throat and threatening to kill her. Mr. Landry jumped the assailant without hesitation, throwing him to the ground and allowing the woman to escape. The man then grabbed Mr. Landry by the neck but he managed to pull free and, with the help of another passer-by, overcome the attacker and hold him until the police arrived.
