On 6 November 1984, Norbert Bujold risked his life to rescue a neighbour. Alerted that an adjacent home was on fire with a woman still inside, he ran to the scene and unhesitatingly entered the smoke-filled cabin. The need for fresh air forced him outside after several minutes, but he re-entered on his hands and knees, finding the woman on a couch. Disoriented, the woman ran toward the flames; Mr. Bujold grabbed her and forced her out. Shortly after, the cabin was completely engulfed.
