On November 4, 1990, Mr. Bouchard rescued a man from a burning house in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Alerted to the fire, he called 911 then ran to the house where he found several people outside who had already been rescued. Unable to determine if anyone was still in the house, he walked around several times until the others began shouting that there was a person inside. Mr. Bouchard forced open the front door, which was blocked by furniture, crawled inside and groped about in the dark until he located the victim and dragged him out. Moments later firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze.
