As commander-in-chief of Canada, Governor General Arbour took part in the opening ceremony of the Rendez-vous naval de Québec, where she welcomed the crews of 9 ships representing 7 countries.
Governor General Arbour also stepped aboard HMCS Margaret Brooke to meet with members of the Royal Canadian Navy, whose commitment, courage and willingness to serve embody Canada’s highest values.
Every ship has its own history, its own culture, its own language. Yet they all share the same oceans.
