  One of Canada's most distinguished classical stage actresses, she has also excelled in television and film, having received two Genie Awards and a Gemini Award. Her extensive and richly varied acting repertoire and her fine reputation among our country's artists have made her an excellent choice for her current position as Artistic Director of the Grand Theatre in London, Ontario.   As a child in Michigan, she decided on the theatre as a career and later studied at the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburg and at the National Theatre School in Montreal. Moving to Winnipeg, she formed a young company at the Manitoba Theatre Centre. In 1962, she joined the Stratford Festival; she has also appeared in London, New York, and major Canadian theatres. Her interpretations are among the most brilliant in Canada.
