David Shannon is a champion of the rights of people living with disabilities. After suffering a spinal cord injury at the age of 18, he devoted his legal career to promoting disability rights and raising awareness of accessibility issues. He has influenced policy-makers in shaping legislation that has removed barriers and improved the lives of individuals living with disabilities. He was also the first person with paraplegia to reach the North Pole.
