Her Excellency Sharon Johnston to Speak at the
Canadian Depression Research and Intervention Network Conference

OTTAWA—Her Excellency Sharon Johnston will deliver remarks at the Canadian Depression Research and Intervention Network (CDRIN) Conference on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 8:30 a.m. at the Ottawa Convention Centre.

In addition to addressing attendees, Her Excellency will participate in several sessions that will focus on examining emerging ideas and issues, sharing progress among professionals, and discussing the future direction of mental health research.

About the CDRIN Conference
This year’s conference is built on theme of Transforming Depression Through Connections, and is geared to persons living with or touched by mental health; clinicians; health care providers; administrators and policy-makers working for non-governmental organizations; and representatives from federal, provincial and territorial governments.

CDRIN aims to build new connections and cohesion among Canada’s mental health research community, vast array of service providers and persons living with depression and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in ways that will open new approaches to detect, prevent and treat these life-altering illnesses. CDRIN is a partnership between Mood Disorders Society of Canada, the Mental Health Commission of Canada, The Royal’s Research Institute, and the University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research.
