Come to Rideau Hall with your family to enjoy fun activities and winter sports such as skating, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
Lace up your skates in the Winter Pavilion, a stunning heritage building, and skate on the refrigerated outdoor rink. Be sure to check out the exhibit on the history of winter sports at Rideau Hall.
Stop at the residence to visit the State rooms where the governor general fulfills official duties, welcomes dignitaries and honours Canadians.
Try traditional foods from Nordic countries and other seasonal treats, like our Poor man’s pudding, while keeping warm with some hot chocolate.
Bring non-perishable food items for the Ottawa Food Bank and Moisson Outaouais or winter clothing for the Snowsuit Fund.
Post your photos of the day’s activities on social media by using the hashtag #WinterCelebration.
Free parking will be available on the streets in the surrounding neighbourhood. Limited parking for guests with mobility impairments will be available on the Rideau Hall grounds via the entrance gate on Princess Avenue.
