Governor General to Attend the Wedding of His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton

OTTAWA—The Office of the Secretary to the Governor General is pleased to announce that Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston will attend the wedding of His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton on Friday, April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey, in London.

"My wife, Sharon, and I are honoured to attend the wedding of His Royal Highness Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton," said His Excellency. "As representative of The Queen in Canada, I am truly privileged to represent Canadians at this very special occasion. Once again, I would like to extend my congratulations and best wishes to the couple. We are looking forward to welcoming them to Canada later this summer."
