Mr. Larsen’s Scandinavian heritage is emphasized through the use of the Viking longships, the three also representing his three sons. The elephants, which honour his wife, Eurilda, are her favourite animals and are drawn from the civic arms of her birthplace, Pietermaritzburg, in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. |
CrestBlazonIssuant from a coronet erablé Or a demi lion Azure holding a Viking axe Or; SymbolismThe mantling uses the national colours of Denmark, England and Canada and one of the national colours of Sweden. The maple leaf coronet symbolizes service to Canada. The lion, a traditional symbol of power and strength, refers to Mr. Larsen’s roots in England and is coloured blue as a further reference to his Danish heritage. The axe is another symbol of his Scandinavian origins and honours the military service of members of his family. |
