Each year the Governor General participates in numerous activities and engagements that do not appear on our website. Such activities can include meetings involving heads of diplomatic mission, senior public servants, military officials, elected officials, representatives of organizations, viceregal representatives and more. Disclosure of the Governor General’s activities and events is provided on a yearly basis through the publication of annual reports by the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General.

You can search for a specific event by keyword or narrow your results by using quotation marks to search for an exact title (e.g. “Speech from the Throne”). You can also use the filters to specify the type of document you are looking for, the date of the event, etc. Note that special characters such as commas and symbols are not accepted.

    Her Excellency the Right Honourable Louise Arbour, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, took part in a ceremony hosted by Aboriginal Veterans Autochtones (AVA) to mark the 25th anniversary of the unveiling of the National Aboriginal Veterans Monument.

    As commander-in-chief, Governor General Arbour joined members of the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Coast Guard to celebrate the legacy and contributions of our maritime forces.
