The Governor General was officially welcomed with a guard of honour upon her arrival to Prince Edward Island. One of the visit's objectives was to highlight the province's innovative bioscience practices.

The Governor General sailed on board the Bluenose II, an important part of Nova Scotia's seafaring heritage.

The Governor General visited 12 Wing Shearwater to learn about the skills required to operate and maintain the state-of-art CH-148 Cyclone, the most advanced maritime helicopter the Royal Canadian Air Force has ever employed.

Upon arrival at 12 Wing Shearwater, the Governor General, the Honourable Stephen McNeil, Premier of Nova Scotia, and Colonel Sid Connor, 12 Wing Commanding Officer, toured the Shearwater Aviation Museum to learn about the airfield’s rich history.
