State Room at the Citadelle

Residence Tours

Accompanied by one of our guides, explore the State rooms, where the governor general welcomes dignitaries and honours Canadians. This tour allows visitors to learn more about the governor general’s responsibilities and to discover the history, architecture and collections of this magnificent residence.

The 60-minute tour is free of charge.

  • It is possible to access the residence with a guide only. Visitors must get a ticket from a guide on their arrival. Tours are free of charge for everyone.
  • To enjoy the site completely, combine your tour of the residence with a visit to the Citadelle, offered by the Musée Royal 22e Régiment. For more information, please call 418-694-2815 or send an email to
  • At the Visitor Centre of the Musée Royal 22e Régiment, you will find public restrooms, water fountains, vending machines and a gift shop.
