President and Andres-Pellar Senior Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Advanced Research in Toronto, he has served on numerous provincial and federal health committees, councils and task forces. An outstanding researcher, administrator and teacher, internationally known for his work in the field of cardiovascular disease, he also devotes much time and energy serving a multitude of national and international medical organizations.
