Launch of Storytime at Rideau Hall

Back to Photo Gallery
Their Excellencies along with Ms. Suzanne Pinel, C.M., launched “Storytime at Rideau Hall”, a new outdoor family reading activity. On this occasion, His Excellency read "Amos's Sweater" by Janet Lunn.
Mrs. Sharon Johnston told the story of "Monsieur Ilétaitunefois" by Rémy Simard to families and visitors.
To conclude, Ms. Suzanne Pinel delighted all that were gathered by reading "Le gros monstre qui aimait trop lire" by Lili Chartrand.
In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Governor General’s Literary Awards, "Storytime at Rideau Hall" invites families and visitors to discover great Canadian children’s books.
Over the summer months, this new outdoor family reading activity will be hosted in collaboration with Frontier College, a Canadian non-profit organization that promotes literacy.
Every Thursday and Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Frontier College volunteers will invite visitors and local families to come to their Reading Tent to read books and to participate in fun literacy activities.
Kids also took part in other family activities that are offered on the grounds of Rideau Hall this summer. Among these, you can learn about heraldry by designing your very own coat of arms.
