As the parents of five daughters and the grandparents of nine grandchildren, Their Excellencies have a deep love of and appreciation for family life. “Whatever the nature of one’s family, kin or community, we all benefit from the love and support of those who are dearest to us. These relationships are at the core of our lives, and the well-being of families and children is essential to that of our society,” says the Governor General.
Their Excellencies are interested in how outdoor activities can promote family well-being. Her Excellency, in particular, is interested in initiatives that address and ease stigmas often attached to mental health issues.
