Their Excellencies to Welcome Their Royal Highnesses
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall
to Canada During an Official Ceremony
OTTAWA—Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston will officially welcome Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall to Canada, at Grand Parade, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Monday, May 19, 2014, at 10 a.m. (ADT).
“Sharon and I are delighted to have the opportunity this Victoria Day to welcome Their Royal Highnesses to Canada and to wish them well as they set out to visit communities across the country,” said the Governor General. “Every year, Victoria Day reminds us of the enduring and close ties between Canada and the Royal Family, and even more so on this very special occasion.”
As part of their Royal Tour of Canada, from May 18 to 21, the couple will visit Nova Scotia,
Prince Edward Island and Manitoba. Details of the itinerary can be found on the Canadian Heritage website at www.canadiancrown.gc.ca.
While in Halifax on May 19, Their Excellencies will also visit UNITY Charity (DANSpace, 1531 Grafton St.) at 11 a.m., where they will learn about the programs offered to youth throughout Nova Scotia and meet with participants enrolled in the Multi-Arts Community Hub program.
