Governor General to Deliver Welcoming Remarks at the World Congress on Information Technology in Montréal
OTTAWA—His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will deliver the welcoming remarks at the World Congress on Information Technology, on Monday, October 22, 2012, at 8:15 a.m, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
“Innovation being one of the pillars at the heart of my mandate, it will be a great honour for me to open such an important gathering as the World Congress on Information Technology,” said the Governor General. “I am looking forward to welcoming to Canada the participants in this biennial global congress, who are leading thinkers and shapers of the worldwide digital society.”
About the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT)
The WCIT is organized under the auspices of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA). It brings together global leaders in business, government and academia from over 80 countries to discuss the opportunities that IT applications offer, as well as policies, best practices and trends.
