Canadian Forces Pay Tribute to the Governor General
OTTAWA—To mark the end of the mandate of Canada’s 27th governor general, the Canadian Forces will pay tribute to Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General and Commander in Chief of Canada, during a military ceremony on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 1 p.m.
A military parade composed of 250 Canadian Forces members will march past the Canadian War Museum (1 Vimy Place, Ottawa). The Governor General will receive military honours in the presence of the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, and General Walt Natynczyk, Chief of the Defence Staff. In delivering her final address as governor general, she will salute the remarkable work done by the men and women of the Canadian Forces.

Note: in the event of inclement weather, the parade will take place at the Hull Regiment (188 Alexandre-Taché Blvd., Gatineau).
