Rideau Hall, 1 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, Ontario
Their Excellencies will host a luncheon at Rideau Hall to pay tribute to this year’s National Silver Cross Mother, Mrs. Della Marie Morley. Her son, the late Corporal Keith Ian Morley, was killed in the Panjawi district of Afghanistan, on September 18, 2006, while serving with A Company, 2nd Battalion, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, based in Shilo, Manitoba. He was one of four members of the Canadian Forces killed as a result of a suicide bombing, while on foot patrol in the district. The National Silver Cross Mother is chosen annually by the Royal Canadian Legion.
