Canadian delegates to accompany Governor General on visits to Slovenia, Croatia and Greece

OTTAWA—On the occasion of an official visit to the Republic of Slovenia and State visits to the Republic of Croatia and the Hellenic Republic, Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Mr. Jean-Daniel Lafond will be accompanied by 13 Canadian delegates who will play an active role in meetings with Slovenian, Croatian and Greek civil society.

Engaged in the fields of diversity, arts and culture, civic engagement and youth, the delegates will share their experiences and knowledge with their Slovenian, Croatian and Greek counterparts. They will also contribute blogs to the Governor General’s Web site at www.citizenvoices.gg.ca.

The official visit to the Republic of Slovenia will take place on October 21 and 22. The State visit to the Republic of Croatia will take place from October 23 to 27; and the State visit to the Hellenic Republic, will take place from October 29 to 31, 2009.
