Rideau Hall has been the official Ottawa residence and workplace of every governor general of Canada since Confederation. As a guide-interpreter, you will be a front-line ambassador for the institution. You and your colleagues will greet thousands of visitors, from foreign dignitaries to school children and tourists.
You must be a Canadian citizen and possess excellent communication skills in English and French. Sound knowledge of Canadian history is an asset, as is experience in historical interpretation for a diverse clientele.

Go back to the FSWEP page and click on “Apply on-line” to submit your application to the FSWEP Campaign 2013-2014. When filling out your application form, be sure to indicate how you meet each of the requirements for the job.
We will be hiring guides for full-time work from April 28- September 1, 2014. The hiring process begins in January of each year. Candidates who have been pre-selected will be invited to attend an interview at the end of January or beginning of February 2014.
We will be hiring guides for part-time work from September 2014 to May 2015.

- A language proficiency test will be administered during the selection process.
