OTTAWA—Their Excellencies the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and her husband, Jean-Daniel Lafond, will attend the State funeral for former governor general the Right Honourable Roméo LeBlanc, who passed away on June 24, 2009. The ceremony will take place at Saint-Thomas Church, in Memramcook, New Brunswick, on Friday, July 3, 2009, at 11 a.m. (EDT).
Signing of the book of condolence for the public
Members of the public have until Friday, July 3, 2009, at 5 p.m., to either post a message of condolence on www.citizenvoices.gg.ca or to sign the book of condolence at either of the official residences of the Governor General:
Rideau Hall, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Citadelle of Québec, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
